Lonely?

February, 1972
1972 HFP, Volume 4 Number 2

Howard Hughes, the mysterious billionaire, claimed the "biography" of him by Clifford Irving was a fake. The ocean liner Queen Elizabeth was destroyed by fire in Hong Kong. The hit TV series "Sanford and Son" premiered on NBC. And the region of East Pakistan became the independent nation of Bangladesh.

Our founding editor Duane Pederson had been invited to travel to Vietnam during March, 1972 to minister to some of the thousands of American troops. We were busy working out all the logistical details in a very short time.

We were also working out the many details of a trip to New Orleans coming up even sooner in February, where we hoped to put 1,000 Jesus People on the street to hand out the HFP and minister to people during Mardi Gras. This trip was being planned with our friend Ed Human, and the Way in New Orleans.

A Jesus School of Ministry was starting in Hollywood with both morning and evening classes, and our friends at the King's Hacienda in San Clemente, CA were announcing a course in ministry that would lead to ordination. Bible studies and street witnessing were continuing nightly in Hollywood.

Our brother Warren Heard created the "Seek and ye shall find" and "Jesus" cartoons, both shown at right.
